Saint Lucia – the gem of the Mediterranean. Colonized by both the British and the French, control over the island swapped itself over 14 times. As a result, the culture of the island is heavily mixed; for instance, while the official language is English, a French creole is also commonly spoken.

The geology of the island is as varied as the culture itself. Full of mountains, waterfalls, hot springs, and the world’s only drive-in volcano, Saint Lucia is bound to delight any kind of traveler; and yet, it is mostly off-the-radar, so that even in peak season, it’s never overwhelmingly crowded. However, its popularity is on the rise, so I hope these images will inspire you to book a trip to Saint Lucia ASAP before it becomes mainstream! For now, this little gem is all ours.
